Choose the right kind of upgrade

SSD storage upgrades

Replacing a mechanical hard drive with a compatible SSD can improve startup and application loading. Available connections and drive size depend on the computer.

RAM memory upgrades

More memory can help when everyday apps and browser tabs exceed the RAM available. Not every laptop has replaceable memory, and each system has limits.

A compatibility check first

A slow computer does not always need new parts. We consider the symptoms, existing hardware, and how you use the PC before recommending an upgrade.

What to expect

Send the make and model and tell us what feels slow or what you want to do more comfortably. We discuss compatible parts, installation needs, and any diagnostic fee before work begins. If you already bought a part, mention its model before bringing it in.

Before your drop-off

Bring the computer and its charger or power adapter as agreed when booking. Back up important files if possible. For a storage upgrade, tell us whether you want to preserve the existing setup or discuss a fresh Windows installation; the available approach depends on the condition of the original drive.

SSD & RAM upgrades questions

Is an SSD or more RAM better for my computer?

They solve different problems. An SSD can help with slow storage, while more RAM may help when memory is the limitation. We look at your system and symptoms before recommending either.

Can every laptop be upgraded?

No. Some laptops have soldered memory or limited storage options. Compatibility needs to be checked for the exact model.

Will a new SSD include my files and Windows?

Installing a drive and moving an existing setup are separate considerations. We discuss Windows installation and any file-transfer needs before work begins; do not assume your data is automatically included.
